Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of DocAPI at getdocapi.com (the “Service”), including the Air Waybill → JSON API, playground, documentation, and related credit packs.
Last updated: 29 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). Operator: Bowen Wu, an individual seller based in mainland China. Support: support@getdocapi.com.
1. Agreement
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. The Service
DocAPI provides a developer API and related tools that extract structured fields from air waybill (MAWB/HAWB) PDFs and images into JSON, with automated validators (e.g. Mod-7 check digit, weight sanity checks). The Service is provided as-is for integration and evaluation. Output may require human review; needs_review and similar flags are advisory, not a guarantee of correctness.
3. Accounts and API keys
When account signup and API keys become available, you must keep credentials confidential and are responsible for activity under your keys. Do not share keys publicly. We may suspend access for abuse, unpaid balances, or security risk.
4. Free tier and paid credits
- Free: up to 100 successful extractions per calendar month (playground + API when live), subject to fair-use rate limits.
- Pay as you go / packs: prepaid API credits sold in USD (see Pricing). One successful
POST /v1/extract/awbthat returns JSON generally consumes one credit. - Checkout: paid orders are intended to be processed by a Merchant of Record (MoR), currently planned as Creem. For paid purchases, the MoR’s checkout terms and tax handling also apply to the payment transaction.
5. Acceptable use
You may only upload documents you have a right to process. Do not use the Service for unlawful content, to attack systems, to scrape or overload the API beyond documented limits, or to reverse-engineer the Service beyond what is needed for ordinary integration. Do not upload materials solely to train competing models using our outputs in bulk beyond your own operational use.
6. Your content
You retain rights to files you upload. You grant us a limited license to process uploads solely to provide the extraction Service, operate validators, debug failures you report, and meet security or legal obligations. See the Privacy Policy for retention practices.
7. Intellectual property
DocAPI branding, site copy, documentation, and software remain ours (or our licensors’). These Terms do not transfer ownership of our IP to you. You may use API responses in your own systems under these Terms.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” Extraction accuracy depends on document quality and models; we do not warrant error-free output, uninterrupted availability, or fitness for a particular regulatory filing. Accuracy figures on marketing pages are internal evaluations only, not third-party certifications. You remain responsible for verifying critical fields before operational or customs use.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for decisions made based on extracted JSON. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for DocAPI credits in that period, or (b) USD $50 for free-tier-only use.
10. Refunds
Refund and cancellation rules for credit packs are described in our Refund Policy.
11. Governing law
For free use of the site and API (no paid order), these Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to mandatory consumer protections that cannot be waived where you live. For paid orders processed by a Merchant of Record, the MoR’s applicable terms and governing law for the payment contract also apply to that purchase; these site Terms continue to govern your use of the DocAPI Service itself.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms by posting a new version on getdocapi.com. Material changes will be dated above. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
